New REGEV Fungicide Creates Step Change in Plant Disease Control
DURHAM, NC —
Summit Agro USA is pleased to announce the introduction of the first hybrid fungicide for US agriculture – REGEV®. This next generation disease control product combines the benefits of a botanical product with the advantages of a conventional fungicide.
“REGEV brings together Tea Tree Oil and difenoconazole giving growers across a variety of crops a very effective disease control product, while reducing chemical usage and providing effective resistance management control,” said Fred Yates, Summit Agro marketing manager for botanical products. “The preventative and curative activity of REGEV with a broad crop and disease control label, plus its ability to enhance plant growth and yield all provide significant value to growers,” Yates added.
The hybrid nature of new REGEV means reducing the chemical load in treated crops, which differentiates it from conventional options. In addition, the multiple modes of action with REGEV presents a very low probability for the development of resistance or cross resistance in plant pathogens.
REGEV will be introduced in major crops such as soybeans, rice and potatoes as well as specialty crops including cucurbits, fruiting vegetables, bulb vegetables, brassica leafy vegetables, legume vegetables, grapes, tree nuts and citrus.
Yates explained that “studies have shown that the addition of Tree Tea Oil to difenoconazole improved the efficacy of difenoconazole and its sensitivity against fungal isolates.” The bottom line is growers can now obtain excellent disease control from two modes of action, yet with only one residue.
Summit Agro USA launches solutions-centric website plus introduces VERDEPRYN insecticide and TIMOREX ACT fungicide
DURHAM, NC – Summit Agro USA proudly announces the launch of its new website designed from the ground up to be a solutions-centric tool for growers, dealers, consultants and PCAs.
“We surveyed our customers and distribution partners about website resources. What we found was that these other sites tend to be product-focused in their approach,” said Bill Lewis, Summit Agro CEO. “We wanted our website to be an easily searchable tool that allows users to quickly and simply get answers for the control of the specific pests threatening their particular crops. This mobile-friendly website fits with Summit Agro’s overall strategy of bringing the market a unique mix of conventional and biological offerings.”
In order to achieve this, a robust database drives the site’s search function. It catalogs multiple diseases, insects and weeds for over 600 crops. This makes the Summit Agro website among the most comprehensive, easy-to-use sites in the industry.
In addition to the launch of the new website, Summit Agro has brought to market two new products — VERDEPRYN 100SL insecticide and TIMOREX ACT fungicide.
VERDEPRYN insecticide allows growers to maximize both yields and crop quality by providing exceptional broad-spectrum insect control in pome fruit, stone fruit, grapes, berries, tree nuts and citrus. “We have been pleased with the results seen with HARVANTA insecticide in vegetable crops. Now we can bring that same successful active ingredient — CYCLAPRYN® — to additional crops in the form of VERDEPRYN,” said Mary DeMers, Summit Agro marketing manager for insecticides and fungicides. “VERDEPRYN is a Group 28 insecticide with a control spectrum that is competitive with, or better than, most currently available diamide insecticides and does so with much less active ingredient.”
A purely organic formulation, TIMOREX ACT is a botanical broad-spectrum fungicide with preventative and curative activity based on an extract of the tree tea plant. “An OMRI-listed product, TIMOREX ACT is poised to meet the rigorous standards for sustainable agriculture,” said Fred Yates, Summit Agro marketing manager for biologicals.

INTRODUCING REGEV, THE FIRST HYBRID FUNGICIDE THAT COMBINES THE DISEASE CONTROL ACTIVITY OF A NATURAL BOTANICAL FUNGICIDE WITH THE STRENGTH & ACTIVITY OF A CHEMICAL INGREDIENT.
REGEV is a combination of Tea Tree Oil (TTO) and difenoconazole, and controls a broad range of plant diseases on arable crops, fruits, and vegetables. Growers can now obtain the excellent disease control activity from multiple modes of action, with only one residue.
With preventative and curative activity, efficacy against a broad spectrum of bacterial and fungal diseases in a wide range of crops, plus the ability to enhance plant growth and yield, REGEV provides significant value to growers. These attributes make REGEV an important new component in potato disease management and control programs.
REGEV allows farmers to reduce synthetic pesticide usage, maintain a strong resistance management program while still obtaining excellent crop disease control against both fungal and bacterial pathogens. Studies have shown that a combination of TTO together with difenoconazole improved the efficacy of difenoconazole and the sensitivity of difenoconazole against fungal isolates which exhibited a lower sensitivity to difenoconazole.
Two years of university trials demonstrate the power of KENJA® 400SC Fungicide for outstanding control of Botrytis (Gray mold)
There is a key factor that drives this consistent performance. It’s the unique molecular structure that distinguishes KENJA as one of the most active products in its class of chemistry.
This means California strawberry growers have a dependable tool available to them. One that has broad-spectrum activity not only for Botrytis, but also for control of Powdery Mildew and Anthracnose.
Getting on top of disease problems in strawberries is critical to preserving a high-value crop. Summit Agro encourages producers to talk to their PCA about how KENJA is an excellent fit for their disease control program, or click here to learn more.
New Fungicide Available to Grape Growers
This season, grape growers have an entirely new fungicide choice for the control of Powdery Mildew.
PROLIVO® 300SC Fungicide from Summit Agro USA is now available for use in wine grapes, table grapes and raisins, to control Powdery Mildew in multiple ways.
First, PROLIVO provides excellent preventative disease control at the onset of the disease epidemic. In addition, with effective translaminar activity, PROLIVO provides additional protection to the untreated side of the leaf. Finally, through redistribution on the leaf surface and vapor activity, PROLIVO protects untreated leaf and fruit surfaces.
Used as a preventative treatment, PROLIVO should be applied beginning with initial flowering or when disease conditions are favorable for disease development. The activity of PROLIVO can be improved with the addition of an oganosilicant, non-ionic, or mixture adjuvant when used at the rates specified on the adjuvant label.
In addition to grapes, PROLIVO Fungicide is also registered for cucurbit vegetables (Crop Group 9), Caneberry Crop Subgroup 13-07A, Bushberry Crop Subgroup 13-07B, Small Fruit Vine Climbing Crop Subgroup 13-07D, and Low Growing Berry Crop Subgroup 13-07G, (except cranberry).
“Grape powdery mildew is one of the most significant diseases in terms of loss of quality and yield impacting growers today. ” says Jim Sturges, Summit Agro Regional Manager. “We’re proud to provide grape growers with a powerful new tool to control this devastating disease.”
PROLIVO fungicide is distributed in the USA by Summit Agro USA LLC, and sold exclusively through Tenkoz member companies and Helena Chemical Company. For more information, visit www.summitagro-usa.com or call your local Tenkoz or Helena representative.
